Welcome to the Root Chakra Module of Chakrafit Freedom!
You can choose how often you do the root chakra practices, whether you do them daily, a couple of times a week, or even just once. It's important that you don't push yourself to do more than your system is ready for as the Kundalini energy, that can arise when doing chakra work, is healthiest when it unfolds gently and naturally. If you start to experience intense reactions, I suggest using the potion of protection journey and the 7 chakras meditation as a sort of anchor to even things out while you work on the root chakra. If your mind starts to interfere and resistance to doing the work arises, then I suggest doing the True Self journey

Guided Root Chakra Journey
This guided journey takes you deep into the sanctuary of your root chakra to receive healing and guidance.
I would suggest doing this a few times if you can, setting a different intention each time . e.g 1. Journey for general root chakra healing and guidance and just see what happens! 2. Journey to ask for healing relating to a particular root chakra issue 3. Journey to ask a specific root chakra question with a view to gaining clarity on what action you can take or changes you can make beyond the journey. There are prompts in the journey, offering suggestions about potential root chakra issues, so your questions will likely just arise naturally as part of the process, at least the first time you do it.
Avoid asking questions that require a Yes/No answer. It's better to ask questions that start with 'How can I...? What can I do to....? Where should I...? What will my life be like if I choose this option? What lesson is this showing me? 'How can I change this?' 'Is there a way to learn this life lesson in a way that's easier and more enjoyable?' Don't feel pressured to get the correct wording though. As long as your intention is clear in your heart, that can often be enough and sometimes even more powerful than using human words! However, if you feel better with a clear sentence prepared, you can even write your question or intention on a piece of paper before you start. That works just as well.
Remember that the answers and healing results from a journey can show up within the journey itself (all senses are valid, so it doesn't need to be visual) or in the days and weeks following. The answers can also show up in different ways, sometimes even in the form of a person suddenly entering your life and giving you the exact information you need.

Physical Body Practice
Please note that there is no guidance or talking in this short 5 min yoga flow. Do this at your own discretion and consult your medical team if you have any health issues to check whether this is suitable for you. You can just adapt it to suit your own ability and comfort level. Don't overdo it or try anything that your body is not ready for. You could even just sit (perhaps crossed legged) or even lie down on the floor, gently stretching or rocking your body while you watch the flow. Sorry about my shaky camera work - a strange and very large jungle fly was hovering by my head, just buzzing and staring at me during the whole thing :-) I filmed this while living in Costa Rica for a few months in 2013. This was in the outdoor kitchen of our 'open to the elements' wooden jungle house, where we were literally living with nature, lizards, sloths, howler monkeys and lots and lots of creepy crawlies! Definitely root chakra stuff! The lovely Yogi doing the flow very kindly allowed me to share this with you but wishes to remain anonymous. :-)
5 min Root Chakra Sound Healing
I recorded this with a strong intention that whatever energy came through the sounds, would provide root chakra healing for all of you. It was an interesting experience as I felt like I was losing control of my hands, especially when drumming - my hands kept sliding further and further down the handle of the beater and there was nothing I could do to stop it so I just went with it! Hopefully this little healing makes your root chakra happy. You can use it as often as you wish. You might want to try different ways of using it: Dancing around, lying down flat or shaking your body while lying down, sitting up with your spine straight, crawling around the room connecting to your primal self, lying in the foetal/fetal position as though you are birthing out of the ground or perhaps standing on the spot but shaking from head to toe. See what you come up with! You might also want to try lying or sitting, focusing intently on the base of your spine and breathing red energy in and out continuously for the whole track. I'm sure you'll come up with some additional ideas of your own too! Use headphones for best sound.
5 min Root Chakra Affirmations
This track is deliberately filled with echoes, reverb and a bit of giddy confusion. This is so that your conscious mind experiences enough confusion to shift out of its usual patterns and allow an opening into your subconscious, where positive affirmations can sneak in and literally take root! I did notice at some point that there is some minor background noise from my son playing games in the other room. I almost edited it out but it's pretty subtle and he is one of the luckiest, abundance-minded humans I know, so I figured a bit of his energy would probably help strengthen the medicine! You can listen to this track as often as needed to help reprogram your root chakra beliefs. This track has theta binaural beats in it, that are said to enhance focus and learning when in a meditative state.
Root Chakra Mantras
Two Hindu deities often associated with the root chakra are Ganesha (Remover of all Obstacles) and Lakshmi (Goddess of Abundance and Prosperity). The buttons below take you to youtube videos of Deva Premal chanting their mantras. These are great mantras to listen to or chant along to for root chakra balance.
Simple Root Chakra Outdoor Ritual
(You can use the audio below as a guide if you find it helpful)
- Find a stone, a leaf, a twig or some kind of natural object (you could use one of the root chakra crystals mentioned below if you prefer)
- Hold it in your left hand touching some part of your lower body and close your eyes. Try to connect with the roots of the object, where it originated from, how it formed from the earth. Honouring it's origins. Understanding that you too are a part of the earth.
- Breathing in, feel earth energy from the object flowing into your hand and into your lower body. Breathing out, circulate that energy throughout your lower body.
- Once you have a steady flow of energy breathing back and forth between you and the object, begin to think of something that you wish to manifest into physical reality. This might relate to your physical body, home life, finances, family, material possessions, feeling safe and secure. Dedicate this wish for the benefit of all beings, in the name of love.
- When you feel that you've put enough of your wish or intention into the object, place it somewhere outdoors and give thanks to the earth for assisting it to blossom in physical reality.
Root Chakra Crystals
You could place one or a number of root chakra crystals on your body, under your pillow, in your pocket, around the house - anywhere that feels right. Some people pop them in their bras! You can do a shamanic journey into the crystal of your choice by calling up the image in your mind and going in through a 'door', to meet with the Spirit of the crystal. You could try holding the crystal while doing the guided root chakra journey. However you can also simply move into a meditative state while gazing at or holding the crystal. This will help you to connect with its energy and gain insights about how it can assist you or where it wants to be placed. Have a wee chat with it! Why not, eh? You can even do this with just the image of a crystal from a website or book if you don't have physical crystals of your own. There are no limits with shamanism!
These crystals are some of my favourites for balancing the root chakra:
